Manager, Budgeting and Compliance
Job #4330 – Great opportunity to join the head office of a well-respected international non-profit organization on a permanent, full-time basis here in Ottawa! Reporting to the Senior Manager, Budgeting & Compliance, you will assist with the corporate budgeting process as well as donor grant proposal budgets, implementation of grant awards, and donor financial compliance. The ideal candidate has experience working with donor agencies and similar international non-profits with strict rules, regulations, and contracting structures. Main responsibilities include:
- Work in collaboration with other business units to set up budgets for assigned portfolios and ensure regular maintenance and adjustments
- Prepare quarterly forecasts and provide variance analysis against budgets
- Review contractual agreements to ensure timing and commitments are accurate
- Assist with the development of standardized guidance on budgeting and reporting and compliance with policies and procedures
- Ensure proposal budgets are in-line and are a good estimate of proposed activities
- Responsible for reviewing and compiling financial reports and ensuring reconciliation with the general ledger and compliance with terms and conditions
- Provide training and ongoing support to stakeholders and project team members
- Conduct regular audits to ensure all project expenditures and contracts are in-line with agreements
- Assist with month-end close entries with regard to revenue reconciliation, indirect and cost allocations
- Evaluate project financial risks and update risk registers as required

Qualifications:
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Post-secondary education in finance and/or accounting
- CPA designation considered an asset
- Minimum 7+ years of relevant work experience
- Prior experience working with a variety of international development funding agency rules, regulations, and contracting structures, including experience with donor agencies
- Good understanding of ASNPO
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in Excel – good analytical skills
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Good leadership skills
What’s the Bottom Line:
- $80,000 – $90,000 salary range
