Job #4818 – Our prominent and well-established real estate client, with offices in every major Canadian city, is looking for a dynamic Property Accounting Manager to join their leadership team on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will be tasked with the responsibility of leading a small team of project accountants, while overseeing the preparation and reporting of financial results. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial property accounting along with the communication and leadership skills that are required to work alongside the VP of Finance. Main responsibilities include:
- Manage, mentor and lead a small accounting team
- Review of the preparation and reporting of financial results, including cash flow reporting and distribution before they are submitted to clients
- Implement departmental policies and procedures and maintain internal controls
- Coordinate and maintain operating cost reconciliation process and schedule in coordination with Budget Manager
- Support external audit
- Ad hoc duties when required

Qualifications:
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Completed CPA designation or in progress strongly preferred
- Post-secondary education in finance and/or accounting
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive work experience, including previous commercial property accounting experience required
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Supervisory experience is regarded as valuable
- Experience with Yardi is an asset
