We are recruiting for a bilingual Senior Financial Monitoring Officer on behalf of our well-established, Non-profit client. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will oversee how funds are used by recipients, including reviewing accounts, checking reports, and ensuring all financial activities are accurate and accountable. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple priorities with ease, and communicates clearly and confidently across teams while using reporting and database tools effectively. Your initiative and willingness to solve problems will allow you to take on increased responsibility as you grow within the role. In addition, you will be required to:

  • Lead financial checks and reviews to ensure funds are used properly, including audits, analyses, and assessments of contributions or construction costs
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee monitoring activities with internal teams and external partners
  • Support and guide team members and outside resources during financial monitoring tasks
  • Review findings, prepare reports, and present results to stakeholders
  • Ensure all monitoring and follow-up tasks are completed on time and resolve any issues that arise
  • Calculate and analyze annual payments to institutions and monitor financial trends to identify potential risks
  • Provide guidance on policies, assist with updates to guidance materials, and participate in special projects or internal initiatives
  • Prepare documents for meetings, reports, and corporate plans, and contribute to improving financial processes

Qualifications:

The main qualifications for this role include:

  • University degree in commerce, accounting, finance, or a similar field
  • CPA designation, complete or in progress, is considered an asset
  • Minimum 4+ years of related work experience
  • A good understanding of auditing, accounting, risk management theories and principles is required
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data
  • Fluent in English and French (speaking, reading, and writing) is required
  • Previous experience in awards administration is considered an asset
  • Proficient in Excel

  • $90,000 – $105,000 annual salary range
