Job #5081 – Our client, a residential home builder focused on thoughtfully designed, quality-built homes and new communities across the region, is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis! The Accounting Manager will oversee accounting operations and financial reporting with responsibility for project costing, budgeting, cash flow, and compliance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional who takes initiative, enjoys being part of a growing and evolving business and brings an entrepreneurial mindset to their work. The main responsibilities include:
- Manage the financial reporting cycle, including period-end closing, reconciliations, financial statements, budgeting and forecasting
- Oversee construction project costing, including lot-level profitability and budget-to-actual performance
- Develop cash flow projections, coordinate construction financing draws, and oversee customer deposits and trust accounts
- Manage core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and employee benefits
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, HST requirements, internal controls, and Tarion regulations
- Lead and develop accounting staff while partnering with construction, purchasing, and sales teams to improve processes and support business operations

Qualifications
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
- CPA designation is a strong asset
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within homebuilding, construction, or real estate development
- Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
- Previous leadership experience, with strong communication skills
How you will be rewarded:
- $85,000 – $105,000 annual salary range
