Job #5111 – Our client, a thriving construction and real estate group, is seeking an Accounting Technician to join their growing Finance team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you'll play a key role in supporting accounting operations across the organization's various entities and construction projects. This role centers on managing the full accounts payable cycle, reconciling bank accounts, monitoring cash flow, and providing accounting support for construction initiatives, offering the opportunity to grow within a dynamic, multi-entity organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, independent, and organized, with strong prioritization skills, a composed and professional approach, and excellent communication abilities. Main responsibilities include:
- Manage full accounts payable cycle (entry, coding, approvals, payments, vendor follow-up)
- Follow up with project managers on pending invoice approvals
- Support cash flow management and payment planning
- Record/reconcile credit card transactions and bank accounts across entities
- Prepare construction disbursement files, cost reports, and supporting documentation
- Liaise with cost consultants, professionals, and project stakeholders
- Prepare monthly journal entries (insurance, payroll, admin, projects)
- Verify releases of claims and documentation for financing applications
- Support month-end close and financial reporting
- Collaborate with Finance, project managers, estimators, and other departments
- Help improve accounting processes

Qualifications:
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Fluently Bilingual in English & French
- Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in accounting and accounts payable, with construction/real estate industry experience an asset; Jonas software knowledge a plus
- Strong Excel and accounting software skills
- Strong prioritization and deadline management
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and stakeholder follow-up skills
How You Will Be Rewarded:
- $50,000 – $65,000 annual salary range
