Job #5040 – Join an established, global non-profit organization as the Controller for this full-time, temporary role. There is a strong chance for this Controller to be made permanent at the end of the 3-month term. The Controller oversees financial operations, project accounting, and transaction management to ensure accurate financial reporting, effective internal controls, timely payments, and efficient day-to-day finance functions. This role is responsible for managing the year-end audit, supporting the preparation of external financial statements, and ensuring compliance with financial and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the COO, the main responsibilities include:
- Oversee a small team performing financial operations and project accounting
- Lead month-end and year-end close activities
- Drive improvements in processes, automation, and operational efficiency
- Contribute to the preparation of financial statements; oversee the year-end audit process; ensure timely and accurate financial reporting; and collaborate with stakeholders to assess and enhance reporting requirements.
- Review and approve payroll journal entries and ensure payroll processes are completed accurately, consistently, and on schedule with appropriate controls.
- Oversee vendor payments, employee expense reimbursements, and cash receipt processing; manage bank reconciliations; support cash flow monitoring and coordination

Qualifications:
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Completed CPA designation (or equivalent) is preferred
- Post-secondary education in finance and/or accounting
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in financial management and corporate accounting, including previous supervisory experience
- NFP experience is a very strong asset
- Experience with PeopleSoft and SharePoint is an asset
How You Will Be Rewarded:
- $98,000 – $115,000 annual salary range
- 6% vacation pay, paid out
- Remote work environment
