Senior Accountant
Job #4422 – Our client, located in Kanata, is looking to add to their successful and growing organization at the Senior Accountant level. If you have at least 4 years of solid full cycle accounting experience, including month-end statement preparation, this could be for you! Being in the service industry, this role will require you to be in the office on a full-time basis. Over time, there could be an opportunity to work from home one day per week, however, that would be evaluated after the first year of employment. This role is being created in order to alleviate some responsibilities from the CFO so that they can focus on the ongoing growth of the organization. The main responsibilities include:
- Assist with overseeing the full accounting cycle (AP/AR/Payroll)
- Take ownership of month-end entries
- Create monthly financial statements
- Responsible for government remittances (HST/WSIB/EHT)
- Ensure compliance and loan agreements
- Assist with year-end reconciliations and working papers
- Assist CFO with budgets and benchmarks
- Become the subject matter expert for their accounting software system

Qualifications
Mandatory:
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Formal accounting education
- At least 4 years of progressive accounting experience, including month-end processes
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (including pivot tables)
- Excellent English communication skills, written & verbal
What’s the Bottom Line:
- $75,000 – $85,000 base salary range
