Job #5107 – Our well-respected real estate and land development client is seeking an Accounts Payable Analyst to join their close-knit team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the timely, accurate, and compliant processing of accounts payable transactions, while supporting the finance team by maintaining strong vendor relationships, assisting with month-end activities, and contributing to continuous process improvements within the finance function. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the ideal candidate is articulate, detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask effectively. They bring strong communication skills, a professional demeanour, and the ability to work independently while managing competing priorities. Main responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the full accounts payable process, from receiving and checking invoices to matching them against orders and receipts, and processing payments in line with company policies
  • Manage regular payment runs, track how quickly the company pays its bills, reconcile accounts, and prepare reports on outstanding payments
  • Maintain strong internal checks and accurate vendor records, and regularly review payables to catch errors, prevent fraud, and avoid duplicate payments
  • Act as the main point of contact for vendors, resolving billing or payment issues and building strong working relationships
  • Manage the company credit card program and employee expense reimbursements
  • Support month-end close tasks, contribute to special projects and cross-team initiatives, and take on other duties as needed
  • Oversee the purchasing process from request through to final payment, working with department leads to ensure spending stays within budget and approval guidelines, and supporting vendor selection when needed

Qualifications:

The main qualifications for this role include:

  • Formal accounting education
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant accounts payable experience
  • Strong understanding of AP processes, including invoice verification, payment processing, and vendor reconciliation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills

Compensation:

  • $60,000 – $65,000 annual salary
  • Strong benefits with a fitness and health savings account
  • Hybrid work environment – 4 days in the office
  • Free parking
