Job #5069 – We're recruiting a Finance Officer for a respected not-for-profit organization. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity to join a mission-driven organization committed to fairness, transparency, and sound financial stewardship in the public interest. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Finance Officer supports financial and administrative activities by ensuring accurate transaction processing, maintaining accounting records, assisting with reporting, and working with internal stakeholders, vendors, and service providers to support efficient operations and compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and adaptable professional with a positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn. They are effective communicators who approach interactions with diplomacy and professionalism, thrive in a team environment, and are committed to contributing to a supportive, high-performing workplace. Key main responsibilities include:

  • Support day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, transaction processing, and financial record management
  • Assist with financial reporting, reconciliations, budget monitoring, and maintaining accurate accounting documentation
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers to support timely financial processing and administrative activities
  • Maintain organized financial and administrative records, filing systems, and documentation in accordance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance function and contribute to the efficient operation of the office

Qualifications

The main qualifications for this role include:

  • Diploma or undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience, with a solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
  • Bilingual – Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and French

How You Will Be Rewarded:

  • $55,000 – $70,000 annual salary range
  • Group benefits plan after 3 months
