Reporting to the General Manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for mentoring and coaching a small team of finance professionals all while managing the day-to-day financial responsibilities and long-term strategic planning of one of Ottawa’s most prominent clubs. - Oversee finance department and supervise accounting team
- Prepare monthly financial statements, provide analysis and lead year-end process
- Prepare annual budgets and liaise with upper management team on revenue and expense forecasts
- Contribute to long term capital budget and strategic planning process and update and refine capital asset listing
- Develop financial reporting system and ensure proper controls and compliances
- Prepare government remittances and manage tax declarations
- Other reporting and special projects as required
Qualifications:
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Post-secondary education in accounting or finance
- 5+ years’ accounting experience, including time spent in a supervisory role
- Strong financial reporting and financial statement preparation knowledge
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written
- Detail oriented with good problem-solving skills
- Strong Excel skills
Assets:
- CPA designation
- Bilingualism (French/English)
Compensation:
- $105,000 – $115,000 annual salary
