Job #4838 – Our environmentally conscious and health-focused client is seeking a dynamic financial professional to join their team as Financial Controller on a one-year contract. In this role, you will oversee the organization's day-to-day accounting functions and manage the internal financial reporting requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, demonstrates sound judgment, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves. The position is best suited to somebody who enjoys working in a smaller team environment and leading by example. The main responsibilities include:
- Manage daily financial activities, including but not limited to processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, monitoring cash flow, and conducting financial analysis
- Supervise team members responsible for accounts payable and receivable functions
- Prepare and maintain internal financial reports, including but not limited to the monthly financial statements for two separate companies
- Record journal entries during the month-end close process
- Ensure the accurate and timely submission of filings such as HST
- Coordinate with external auditors or accountants as required

Qualifications:
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Completed CPA designation or in process, considered an asset
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of Canadian tax compliance, payroll, and HST regulations
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Previous supervisory experience is considered an asset
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
How You Will Be Rewarded:
- $85,000 – $95,000 annual salary
