Job #4851 – Our Canadian-owned and operated client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their accounting department and support their growing operations. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be responsible for the day-to-day and end-to-end accounting and payroll functions for a large subsidiary. You are dedicated, detail-oriented, and take pride in delivering quality work. The main responsibilities include:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries and reconciliations
- Process supplier invoices, bank and credit card transactions, customer payments and deposits
- Weekly reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts
- Handle onboarding/offboarding, weekly payroll process, and subcontractor payments
- Ensure timely remittance and compliance with all taxes, benefits, and contributions
- Manage weekly payments and supplier account reconciliations
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and KPIs
- Perform gross margin analysis and investigate general ledger variances
- Forecast and maintain cash flow
- Support year-end audit and tax preparation
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements

Qualifications
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Post-secondary education in finance and/or accounting required
- CPA complete or in process preferred
- Minimum 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Good understanding of Canadian payroll legislation
- QuickBooks Online experience considered an asset
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
How You Will Be Rewarded:
- $75,000 – $90,000 salary range
