Job #4954 – We are recruiting an analytical, system-savvy Senior Financial Analyst to join our client on a full-time, permanent basis. This organization is a well-funded Non-profit and they have played a vital role in developing and improving many of Canada’s top research institutions for over 25 years. Reporting to the Finance Director, the selected incumbent will review payments, finalize awards, update cash flow forecasts, and help improve the overall awards management system. The ideal candidate will have strong critical thinking skills and must be able to analyze and interpret complex financial data before making insightful recommendations. You thrive in an ever-changing environment and consider yourself a team player with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills. In addition, you will be required to:

  • Prepare and review cash flow forecasts, awards schedules, and financial reports, monitoring actual payments against forecasts and identifying any risks or issues
  • Lead and manage awards finalization and institutional payment processes, ensuring timely payments and communicating adjustments to institutions
  • Support and improve the awards management system, including troubleshooting, testing, and assisting institutions with online forms
  • Analyze financial data using reporting tools and business intelligence systems to support team decision-making and ad hoc requests
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial and awards data through reconciliations, verifications, and timely corrections
  • Assist in developing processes, preparing documents for boards, reports, and corporate plans, and completing special projects or accounting tasks as needed

Qualifications:

The main qualifications for this role include:

  • University degree in commerce, accounting, finance, or a similar field
  • Minimum 4+ years of progressive work experience
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data
  • Experience working with business intelligence tools and databases
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Fluent in English and French (speaking, reading, and writing) is required

How You Will Be Rewarded:

  • $90,000 – $105,000 annual salary range
