Job #4967 – We are looking for a proficient and motivated Financial Controller to join the leadership team of a respected Canadian agricultural cooperative on a full-time, permanent basis. This key role offers the opportunity to work within a stable organization with a long-standing history of supporting producers nationwide. Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will take ownership of financial operations, provide strategic insight, and play a critical role in driving the organization’s long-term success. The ideal candidate is genuine, collaborative, and able to tackle complex situations while leveraging technology to streamline processes and enhance efficiency. You will be required to:
- Lead and oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll and cash management
- Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to support strategic decision-making
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives, providing actionable insights to senior leadership
- Manage year-end close processes and collaborate with external auditors to ensure a smooth and compliant audit
- Ensure full compliance with tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements while maintaining best-in-class internal controls
- Continuously enhance accounting policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities to accounting staff, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team

Qualifications:
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Completed formal accounting education and CPA designation
- Progressive experience at the management level
- Strong understanding of accounting standards and internal controls
- Proven leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
Compensation:
- $120,000 – $130,000 annual salary range
- Strong benefits package
