Job #5019 – Our client, a privately held, owner-operated real estate company specializing in property management, rentals, and development, is seeking a full-time, permanent Financial Controller to join their team. The Financial Controller will lead financial reporting, forecasting, and investment analysis, helping to evaluate property performance, inform strategic decision-making, and optimize overall returns. They bring a hands-on approach, strong communication skills, and a high level of accountability, serving as a trusted partner to leadership. Reporting to the President of the company, the Financial Controller will:
- Lead financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting across the organization
- Manage debt, financing activities, and lender relationships
- Evaluate acquisitions and support investment decision-making
- Oversee accounting operations and provide strategic financial guidance
- Partner with the ownership team on capital allocation and portfolio growth
- Optimize and maintain financial systems (including Yardi) for accuracy and efficiency

Qualifications:
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Formal accounting education required
- CPA designation preferred
- 5+ years of finance or accounting experience, preferably in real estate, property management, or construction
- Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and managing debt
- Effective communicator with the ability to simplify and communicate complex financial information
- Experience using Yardi or a similar property management system
How You Will Be Rewarded:
- $100,000 – $120,000 annual salary range
- Discretionary bonus
- 3 weeks’ vacation + Christmas shutdown
