Job #5037 – Our client, a respected and well-established independent not-for-profit organization committed to strengthening Canada’s healthcare system through trusted data and meaningful insights, is seeking an Accounting Team Lead to join their team on a full-time one-year contract. The Accounting Team Lead oversees the daily operations of key accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset management, and account reconciliations. This role ensures compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and reporting standards, while also supporting audit activities and administering the corporate credit card program. In addition, the position plays an integral role in strengthening financial systems and processes, enhancing reporting accuracy, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. They are a skilled mentor who remains calm under pressure, adapts readily to changing priorities, and brings a solutions-focused mindset. Organized and dependable, they balance multiple responsibilities effectively while fostering strong, positive working relationships across teams. Main responsibilities include:
- Lead and support an accounting team through coaching, performance management, and continuous development initiatives.
- Oversee core accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, reconciliations, and compliance activities.
- Support audit preparation, statutory remittances, and adherence to organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and accounting standards.
- Manage corporate credit card processes and contribute to financial systems enhancements and process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to provide accounting guidance, improve efficiencies, and support organizational objectives.
- Develop and maintain documentation, training materials, and knowledge of financial systems, policies, and best practices.

Qualifications:
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Degree in accounting, business, or commerce
- Completed CPA designation or in progress is an asset
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least two years of supervisory experience
- Advanced in Excel
- Excellent communication skills

- $108,000 – $125,000 annual salary range
