They are seeking a strategic Senior Finance Manager to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. As a key member of the senior leadership team, the Senior Finance Manager provides financial leadership and oversight of the organization's financial operations, ensuring strong stewardship, compliance, and long-term sustainability. The ideal candidate is a proactive, collaborative finance professional who thrives in a mission-driven environment. They bring strong analytical capabilities, sound judgment, and the ability to balance strategic priorities with operational execution. Reporting to the Executive Director, responsibilities include:

  • Leading the organization's financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, financial reporting, and variance analysis
  • Overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, month-end close, and payroll oversight
  • Managing funding agreements, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and the timely preparation of financial reports for funders
  • Providing strategic financial analysis and recommendations to support organizational planning and decision-making
  • Preparing financial reports and presentations for the Executive Director, Finance & Audit Committee, Treasurer, and Board of Directors
  • Coordinating the annual audit, charitable filings, tax remittances, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Developing, implementing, and continuously improving financial policies, processes, internal controls, and system automation initiatives
  • Overseeing payroll, employee benefits administration, and related compliance requirements
  • Supporting organizational operations through vendor management, banking, insurance, IT oversight, and contract administration
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with funders, donors, auditors, financial institutions, and other key stakeholders while contributing to organizational priorities and special projects

Qualifications:

The main qualifications for this role include:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • A CPA designation is considered an asset
  • 5–7 years of progressive financial management experience, ideally within a not-for-profit or charitable organization
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to leverage data for reporting and analysis
  • Strong proficiency with Sage 50; experience with other financial management systems is an asset
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce and Powerpay is considered an asset

Compensation:

  • $80,000 – $95,000 annual salary range
  • Employee group insured benefits plan
  • RRSP matching up to 2.5%
  • 3 weeks’ vacation, 12 sick days, 3 personal days
  • Hybrid work environment
  • Free parking
