Job #4939 – Our client is a collaborative, dynamic team of advisors dedicated to shaping the development of infrastructure, recognizing that the world relies on strong, well-planned infrastructure to thrive. We are recruiting an Accounting and Reporting Analyst to join their team in Ottawa on a temporary, full-time basis to cover an 18-month maternity leave, with the possibility of extension. In this role, you will support accounting operations and manage internal and external financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Reporting to the AVP, Finance, your main responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the month-end and quarterly financial close, reviewing journal entries, invoices, and general ledger accounts
  • Assisting with admin requirements for government approvals for the US subsidiary
  • Supporting A/R and project billing, including following up on overdue payments with project managers, clients and management
  • Helping set up new projects, post timesheets and prepare management reports on team performance and cash flow
  • Providing regular cash updates and financial reports to senior management
  • Supporting reporting and setting up in the finance system
  • Taking part in special projects as needed, including business acquisitions and integrations.

Qualifications

The main qualifications for this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in financial reporting gained within professional services, real estate, infrastructure or similar industries
  • Knowledge or adaptability to learn software, such as Deltek VantagePoint
  • Exceptional Excel skills
  • Bilingualism – French/English is considered an asset

Compensation, Perks & Opportunities:

  • $75,000 – $85,000 annual salary
  • Group benefits after 3 months, 75% employer paid
  • 3 weeks’ vacation
  • Hybrid work environment
