Job #4930 – Our client, a locally owned and family-operated contracting company providing commercial, industrial, and residential services in the Ottawa area, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join their team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will record and process all accounts receivable transactions, reconcile accounts, prepare reports, and act as the first point of contact for customers and management regarding adjustments, notices, and disputes. You will also provide support to other members of the finance department. Main responsibilities include:
- Record and process all A/R transactions, including adjustments, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Maintain accurate customer records and supporting documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and distribute customer statements, invoices, receipts, and reports, responding promptly to documentation or credit inquiries.
- Follow up with customers on overdue accounts, resolve billing discrepancies, and act as a point of contact for receivable disputes, escalating as needed.
- Collaborate with the A/P team, management, and other departments to coordinate supplier and contractor payments.
- Assist with credit limit assessments, repayment plans, and communications with financial institutions or agencies.
- Support month-end, year-end, and bank reconciliation processes, along with general clerical and accounting tasks.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of all transactions and supporting documentation.

Qualifications
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Post-secondary education in accounting and/or finance required
- A minimum of 3 years’ related accounting experience
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Construction industry experience is considered an asset
