Job #4656 – Our well known and highly respected client is looking for a confident and curious Assistant Controller to join their expanding team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Controller and act as a key member of the accounting team where they will be relied upon to provide accurate financial reporting, analysis and support to various business functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting and finance along with the ability to foster and maintain relationships with ease. Main responsibilities include:

• Coordinate monthly close processes including general ledger and bank account reconciliations as well as intercompany balance reporting
• Assist with year-end working papers
• Review payment schedules, bank transactions and monthly HST filings
• Review balance sheets monthly and prepare corporate cash flow projections and treasury consolidations
• Review monthly cost recovery reconciliations and related billing
• Ensure financial compliance and provide ongoing recommendations for improvements
• Provide financial reporting and analysis as required

Qualifications:
The main qualifications for this role include:

• Post-secondary education in accounting or finance
• 5+ years’ experience in a progressive accounting or finance role
• Strong understanding of financial principles, cashflow management and financial analysis
• Previous supervisory experience
• Advanced Excel skills
• Excellent communication skills, oral and written 

Assets:

• CPA designation completed or in progress 
• Public accounting experience
• Previous experience in the real estate or construction industry

Compensation:

• $90,000- $100,000 annual salary
• Generous bonus structure
