Associate Director of Finance

Job #4799– Reporting to the Director of Finance, this well-established not-for-profit organization is looking for an adaptable and communicative Associate Director of Finance to help support their finance team. Having experienced impressive growth over the last few years, they are in need of a confident individual with excellent people skills and a willingness to be hands-on while mentoring, coaching, and developing their team. The successful candidate will be able to make a real difference and will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Manage overall financial operations while providing accurate information to C-Suite, including analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and preparing financial reports
  • Manage the accounting operations including the review of journal entries, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and statutory reporting
  • Ensure internal controls are in place and in accordance with applicable regulations
  • Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual operating results
  • Oversee performance of the finance team while provide coaching and skill building
  • Manager year-end external audits

Qualifications:

The main qualifications for this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field
  • CPA / CA / ACCA designation
  • 5+ years of progressive financial experience, ideally within NFP
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • High degree of professionalism

Definite Assets:

  • NetSuite experience
  • Previous experience with Indigenous groups

Compensation:

  • $145,000 – $150,000 annual salary range
  • Strong pension and benefits plan
