Our client is seeking a Director of Finance for an 18-month contract to play a key role in all aspects of the organization’s financial management. In this role, the Director of Finance provides strategic financial advice to senior leadership, analyzes and synthesizes financial data, and recommends updates to financial policies and procedures. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and adaptable, with strong multitasking skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines. Success requires a collaborative, down-to-earth leader who builds strong relationships, embraces new challenges, and contributes to a supportive team culture. The main responsibilities include:
- Lead day-to-day financial operations, budgeting, reporting and audits, ensuring compliance with GAAP and funder requirements
- Provide strategic financial advice to leadership and the board, supporting organization planning and decision making
- Oversee benefits, investments and insurance while maintaining accurate financial records and systems
- Supervise and lead a small finance team, fostering efficiency and accountability across the organization

Qualifications
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Post-secondary education in accounting or finance
- CPA/CA/CGA/CMA designation mandatory
- 8-10 years of experience
- Experience with government funding is an asset
- Bilingualism, English/French, is an asset
