Job #4670 – Does the idea of playing an integral role in managing the finances of a highly regarded not-for profit organization excite you? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join a very well-respected organization on a full-time basis. In this role you will play a significant role when it comes to budgeting, financial forecasting and compliance with financial regulations. The chosen candidate will manage accounts payable, ensure accurate financial record-keeping, oversee cash flow projections and process payroll.  Working closely with the Finance Director, main responsibilities include:

  • Manage accounts payable, including vendor statement reconciliations and cash-flow requirements
  • Verify and accurately record all expenses, ensuring compliance with relevant policies
  • Process bi-weekly payroll, including preparation of payroll journal entries, calculation of taxable benefits and pension contributions, and reconciliation with the general ledger
  • Perform account and bank reconciliations and conduct thorough account analysis
  • Prepare monthly revenue reports, ensuring accurate recording of all revenue and explaining any variances
  • Assist with budget templates, data management, and audit preparation as needed
  • Provide operational and technical support
  • Oversee tax receipt production, ensuring compliance with the Income Tax Act and maintaining necessary accuracy controls
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:
The main qualifications for this role include:

  • Post-secondary education in accounting or finance
  • CPA designation completed or in progress
  • Minimum 6+ years in a similar role (NFP), including performing financial management and reporting
  • Experience with Canadian payroll
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written

Definite Assets:

  • Experience with AccPac, QuickBooks, Simply Accounting or ADP, Raiser Edge

What’s the Bottom Line:

  • $85,000 – $90,000 annual salary
