Job #4983 – Our dynamic client is seeking a Financial Accountant for a 10-month contract with strong potential for extension to a permanent role. Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Accountant ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting in a fast-paced software/SaaS environment. Acting as both a technical expert and business advisor, you will work closely with senior leadership to analyze data, validate information, and guide business decisions. The ideal candidate is a bright, articulate accounting professional who is collaborative, entrepreneurial, and adaptable. Main responsibilities:
- Lead month-end and year-end financial close, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage revenue accounting for software/SaaS contracts in line with IFRS 15
- Support audits, statutory reporting, and tax/compliance submissions
- Maintain the general ledger, AP/AR, and intercompany reconciliations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate contracts, billing, and revenue
- Drive process improvements, system optimization, and enhanced reporting/analytics
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, governance, and financial standards

Qualifications:
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Formal accounting education
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls
- Solid technical knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 15
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Excel
Assets:
- CPA or ACCA designation is an asset
- Experience in Public Accounting, SaaS, or High-Tech industry
- Experience with NetSuite or Salesforce
Compensation:
- $80,000 – $82,000 annual salary range
- Fully remote, flexible work schedule
- Accrued vacation
