Job #4765– Our well-established client is looking for a competent and resourceful Financial Controller to join their management team on a full-time, permanent basis! As Financial Controller of this prominent and robust organization, you will be responsible for managing the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements, including the financial analysis needed to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong financial reporting and budgeting background as you will be given full responsibility to lead and oversee all day-to-day financial accounting activities while managing a small team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, additional responsibilities include:

  • Prepare financial statements and reports including general ledgers and account reconciliations for a group of companies in accordance with ASPE
  • Review and prepare financial analysis and reports with department managers
  • Analyze actual results compared to budget, and prepare monthly and annual forecasts
  • Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with financial controls and accounting policies
  • Establish and manage the annual budget process – liaise with department heads to review and forecast results
  • Ensure all statutory requirements are being met
  • Work with external auditors and tax advisors as needed
  • Responsible for hiring, training, and supervising a team
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance

Qualifications:

The main qualifications for this role include:

  • Completed CPA designation strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Sound knowledge of ASPE and internal control principles
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide recommendations
  • Proficient in Excel
