Job #4976 – Our client, a logistics and freight services provider that specializes in time-critical shipments across North America and internationally, is looking for a personable and tech-savvy Financial Controller to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. As a senior finance leader, you will drive strategic financial decision-making, provide in-depth analysis, and deliver actionable insights to support the organization's growth and long-term success. The ideal candidate is quick-thinking, hands-on and ready to roll up their sleeves to tackle challenges and drive results. Reporting to the Managing Director, main responsibilities include:
- Prepare monthly and year-end financial reports
- Create budgets and forecasts and track performances against them
- Set up processes and policies to protect company assets
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, including A/R, A/P and payroll
- Handle compliance and tax filings with local, provincial, and federal authorities, collaborating with accountants as needed
- Monitor cash flow to ensure the business can meet its obligations
- Function as the main contact for external auditors and coordinate audits

Qualifications:
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Completed CPA designation or in progress is strongly preferred
- Post-secondary education in finance and/or accounting
- Minimum 5+ years of proven success in an accounting or financial leadership role
- Mastery of ERP systems
- Advanced Excel skills for modelling
Compensation:
- $120,000 – $130,000 annual salary range
- Generous bonus potential
