Job #5047 – Our well-established client in the professional services sector is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role supports day-to-day financial operations, including maintaining accurate financial records, managing reconciliations, processing transactions, and supporting reporting activities. The position plays a key role in ensuring financial data is accurate and up to date while supporting efficient accounting and administrative processes across the organization. The ideal candidate is a dependable, detail-oriented professional who works effectively both independently and collaboratively. They take full ownership of their responsibilities, follow through on commitments, and thrive in a structured environment where accountability and attention to detail are essential. Reporting to the CEO, the main responsibilities include:

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, reconciliations, and bookkeeping files
  • Manage payroll processing, HST remittances, and ROE submissions
  • Track expenses, disbursements, and billing details in coordination with the accounting function
  • Prepare invoices, process payments, and maintain trust and general ledgers
  • Support financial reporting, budgeting activities, and overall document organization
  • Liaise with clients, financial institutions, and other third parties, responding to inquiries promptly
  • Coordinate document management, version control, and general data entry tasks
  • Provide general administrative and office support as required

Qualifications

The main qualifications for this role include:

  • Post-secondary education in accounting is preferred
  • Minimum 3+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience required
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and procedures, including payroll
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous QuickBooks experience is considered an asset
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
